Meet Emily

I believe if you asked the people that know me best they would say I am dependable, positive and always up for a challenge or adventure. It is these qualities and my passion for promoting brands and organizations that make a difference that led me to be a public relations professional.

Originally from Louisiana, I moved to Hattiesburg, MS in 2009 to pursue a degree in Mass Communication and Journalism from the University of Southern Mississippi. During my time in college I became very involved with Chi Omega Sorority, where I designed t-shirts (see a sample of my designs here), planned the 2013 annual Family Day event and managed the chapter website. I also invested my time in an internship at the Hattiesburg Convention and Tourism Commissions which led to a job offer right after graduation.

In July 2013, I was offered the role of Communication Coordinator at the HCC/HTC. Through this role, I saw the kind of work I was capable of and the impact I had the ability to provide (learn more about my experience here). After just one short year, I became a leader not only in the Marketing and Communications Department, but also in the community. I even directed the Mississippi Miss Hospitality Pageant, which I would say is my biggest accomplishment to date. Through my work at the Commissions, I became a trusted leader, a public speaker, and gained invaulable knowledge of my field including media relations, new media pactices and event planning. Following the Pageant (July 2014), I was honored to be named an Up and Coming Business Professional by the Hattiesburg American Newspaper.

The fall of 2014 brought exciting new adventures. I took a leap of faith and moved to one of my favorite cities - Dallas, TX. Dallas has always held a special place in my heart - Dallas holds the true meaning of southern, but at the same time is continually creating trends in fashion, tech, the environment and various other industries. I am beyond excited to see what this next chapter brings.
